This is why we are Holding A Visitor Economy Week
The City Region’s Visitor Economy generates £4.1bn and plays a vital part in the City Region’s economy with massive potential and opportunity for the next generation.
Visitor Economy Week aims to raise the profile of the sector and enhance its perception as a progressive career choice. This has developed with the work the Local Enterprise Partnership’s Visitor Economy team have been progressing with the FE Colleges and skills providers across the City Region, to ensure skill development sits at the forefront of improving the competitiveness and quality of the sector.
Together an implementation plan has been developed which sets out a range of actions, of which increasing secondary school engagement as a means of facilitating career progression and targeting those students seeking vocational training opportunities that exist outside of the 6th form is a major priority.
The launch event takes place on Monday 6th February, 3.30-5.30pm at Merseytravel’s iconic Head Office, at No 1 Mann Island at the Pier Head. Guests will include key representatives and stakeholders from within the Visitor Economy who are committed to investing in young people to help them realise their potential within this exciting and diverse sector.
Thanks to everyone who took part in the project.
